Here are some commonly asked questions, but if you don’t see what you are after below then feel free to shoot us an email!

What should I bring/expect at my consultation?

An open mind! Some brides find it really hard to choose a veil, and that’s understandable as its not something that is generally worn before or after a wedding!
Usually I like to talk about your dress, your theme and your hair. These things are the most important when it comes to choosing a veil or headpiece to suit. Even if you haven’t settled on an exact style, have a rough idea of what you like and we can work from there. Be prepared to try some different styles on but limit the amount to 5 or less. Otherwise It can be confusing, and you will forget what they look like! Try to limit your tribe to a maximum of two, again it can get confusing with so many opinions flying around. If you are having your hair in an upstyle, make sure wear it up etc. so you can have a rough idea of what it will look like and help decide whether you would like a comb or pinning loops.
Don’t be shy to ask questions! Nothing is silly, and someone else has probably asked it before you. So speak up!

How much can I be expected to pay?

As all veils are custom, this can vary greatly. There are many factors that can influence the price of a veil including fabric, lace or embroidery and bead work. As a rough guide, plain soft or bridal tulle veils will be approximately:
Single tier- 45” veil $90 — 75” veil $150 — 100” veil $180
Double tier (with blusher)- 45” veil $150 — 75” veil $185 — 100” veil $210
Please email for specific quotes, including lace veils, beaded veils, spot veils, silk veils and headpieces.

How long does it take to make my veil?

This is a tough question! It all depends on what you order. Plain veils are approximately a 2 week turn around and appliqued, lace or beaded veils are approximately 4 weeks. This time frame is to ensure that there is enough time for materials to arrive if need be and for production to take place. Unfortunately, there is only one of me, and many veils and headpieces to be made. So, I can’t necessarily make your veil any sooner as there may be other veils before yours.

Can you do a rush order?

Yes and no. This will depend on many factors, including what you are after, timeframe and how many other veils I have in the queue. Generally speaking, I can rush a plain veil (no lace, beading etc) but if you have decided last minute to have a veil, send me through an enquiry and I can let you know if it’s possible or not.

Can I buy something ‘Off the rack”?

On very rare occasions, I may have some plain veils or some ready to wear headpieces for purchase. If you are in a hurry, and need something urgent, please email to enquire if I have anything that can be sent out immediately. As I do not have a shop front, and with limited studio space, I make all orders custom.

What if I change my mind?

As each item is hand made for you to your specifications, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind. All sales are final, so please consider this before placing an order. If you need another consultation to confirm your choice and colour, we will do our best to accommodate depending on timeframes. If you have paid a deposit, but we have not started yet and you wish to cancel, we will keep $40 as a fee for work already completed. We feel this small fee is fair, as by this stage we have usually corresponded via email several times, had a consultation and potentially spoken to suppliers on your behalf.
Refunds are only issued where a product is faulty or doesn’t match what you ordered. If a piece is not as described/ordered, you will need to contact us within 2 days of receipt of the product to organise an exchange/refund. Please ensure that the item is returned in new condition, with no hair products/perfume on it and any tags or packaging in tack.

How do I choose the right colour?

As I’m sure you have found out, every brand has their own white, ivory, champagne and blush! Then there is any number of variations on these. You can check your tulle colour will match at your consultation and can order a sample if need be. Something to consider is if your being married outdoor (natural light changes the colour) and if your veil will be fine or gathered (also can change the colour). But we can always discuss this in person to ensure you pick the right one.

Which veil is the right one?

Now this is one of the most asked questions! It is a very personal choice. As a milliner, I am there to help and guide you with information, but ultimately it is your choice! You should feel comfortable, and amazing with your veil and it should be YOU not matter if its plain and classic or textured and beaded. Just remember to consider your wedding, and how you see it. What is your theme? how is your hair going to look? Where are you getting married? What does your dress look like? Etc This should be the icing on the cake!
